The Lake Norconian Club Foundation is dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Norconian Hotel and its grounds.
A historic treasure located in Norco, California, the Lake Norconian Club is a magnificent resort that was developed in the 1920s and 1930s by Rex B. Clark as a playground for the rich and famous. It included a huge hotel, a beautiful ballroom, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a man-made lake, an airstrip, a golf course, and many fantastic amenities.
The Resort has long since closed. Since the closure, the grounds have been used by the government as both a U.S. Naval hospital and a California State Prison. The main hotel buildings are empty and slowly decaying. The Navy and the prison still occupy a portion of the grounds and use part of the facility.
The Norconian is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
